Le hájim – To Life

„We’re going to Auschwitz in the morning and Birkenau in the afternoon.” There’s nothing strange about this sentence. It’s part of the orientation for a group of high school kids taking part in a free trip won through a scholastic competition. They listen to the organizers telling them where the hotel is, when the sightseeing in Krakow will be and when they’re going to visit the former concentration camps. The twenty-five students chosen will arrive from all parts of Hungary, lugging their discmans, guitars, and cokes. Will they be moved at the sight of the camps? We’ll see…
